How to Have a Christ-Centered and Gluten-Free Halloween
At the By Grace Cakes bakery, we look at Halloween as a chance to preach Christ. Here are a few simple ways to keep Jesus Christ at the center of your Halloween.
1. Keep it Child-Like
What does it mean to keep Halloween child-like? Let this night be for Christ first, and then for the kids. Keep this in mind when picking out costumes and decorating your home. When opening up the door, to hand out candy, kids should ooooh and aaahhhh over a fairy princess! Don’t let it be a scary zombie or inappropriately short dressed red riding hood. Keep is a a fanciful night of fun for your kids, like seeing his or her favorite characters come to life.
2. Keep it Family Focused
When decorating your home, let the kids help. Pick out pumpkins as a family and bring them home to carve together. Roast some pumpkin seeds and make great memories together! So skip the ghouls and the goblins and keep it happy and homey:)
Skip the witches brew and the skeleton bones and stick with candy corn treats, God’s beautiful fall leaves, and pumpkin patches. Here is a free printable Halloween Cupcake Topper, to keep your fall family day, Christ centered.
I was so priviledge to meet such a sweet, Christian client this week. She is such a dear lady with a heart for others. By throwing her sister-in-law to be a beautiful bridal shower, my client wanted the bride to feel welcomed into the family. She had it all set. She wanted a wedding dress cupcake cake, and this is the result. God is good! It turned out wonderful! The family was so sweet that they even invited me to the bridal shower. What a friend we have in Jesus! and what a sweet new friend I made (i.e. my client).
The verse in the ring: Solomon 3:4 I have found the one whom my soul loves. (part of the verse)
All the cakes where dusted with a little edible luster dust. Also, edible pearls on the wedding dress. The bride’s theme was country, so the cake boards were covered with jute and decorated to match the wedding colors.
Fresh out of the oven, a new flavor: Buttermilk Silver White Cupcakes. Gluten-free, with just a mildly sweet flavor. It always seems to work out from a sweet accident. Of course, as Christians, we know it’s by God’s grace:)
A wedding is such a special day. With all the stress and bustle of planning a wedding, try not to get lost in the details. Remember that it is Christ that brought you to this place, brought that special someone into your life; and He will work it all out.
I would love to be part of your special day! We can work together to make your cake one-of-a-kind. With wedding season in full swing, contact me to set up your cake tasting session.

And I know this isn’t a cake pop, but it’s pretty:).
I recently had an order for a red velvet cake flower bouquet. The icing is all buttercream, with the exception of the chrysanthemums, which are marshmallows. I would not recommend buttercream for a humid or hot day, but for a short period of time, these make a beautiful display. The Lord blessed, and I was very happy with the result.
